Billboard Consolidation
and Relocation Program
Outdoor Advertising, Alameda County, CA
In an effort to reduce visual blight in unincorporated neighborhoods of Alameda County, the billboard consolidation and relocation program is designed to work with outdoor advertising media companies to remove a goal of 50% of existing billboards located on secondary arterials. In exchange the County will work with the media companies to approve permits for the development of a limited number of new digital billboards on interstate highway locations.

TRA analyzed various categories of NCDOT assets including ferry, rail and highway real property, and potential advertising and sponsorship opportunities, prepared recommendations for a comprehensive real estate asset management program for action by NCDOT, including the identification of a potential $28 million disposition program of surplus property, development of a telecommunications leasing program, and recommendations for upgrading property databases and website.

North Station Garage, Boston, MA
Monetization of the North Station Garage which was
designated a nontransportation property. The Garage contains 5-level underground garage in 663,165 square feet containing 1,275 parking spaces largely used for public sporting and entertainment events. This was legally and technically complicated through its physical and legal connection to the TD Garden arena as well as the MBTA commuter rail and subway systems.

The project is being developed by a venture between Trinity Financial and AIMCO at One Canal Street in Bullfinch Square section of Boston. One Canal Street is designed as a 12 story, 435,000 square foot development program providing 310 residential units and 21,000 square feet of retail space under a 99 year ground lease. The property combines several parcels controlled by MBTA and MassDOT plus air rights over the Central Artery Tunnel and the MBTA Orange Line Tunnel.
